Birthday — A cursed day

In JEREMIAH 20:14, Prophet Jeremiah said, and I quote, “Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bore me, be blessed.” After the fall of Adam, the entire human race have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, as written in ROMANS 3:23.

That was why David said in PSALM 51:5, and I quote, “Behold I was shapen in Iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me.” The Preacher also said, in ECCLESIASTES 7:1, that the day of death is better than the day of one’s birth.

This is the reason why Jesus NEVER commanded His disciples, to remember the day He was born, but that they should remember the day of His death, by observing the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper, as written in 1 CORINTHIANS 11:24-25, and I quote, “TAKE, EAT, THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH IS BROKEN FOR YOU: THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME. THIS CUP IS THE NEW TESTAMENT IN MY BLOOD: THIS DO YE, AS OFT AS YE DRINK IT, IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME. FOR AS OFTEN AS YE EAT THIS BREAD AND DRINK THIS CUP, YE DO SHEW THE LORD’S DEATH TILL HE COME.”

Christ paid so much price with His precious blood, in redeeming believers in Christ, from the curse of the law and from the universal sin, in which their mothers conceived them. Therefore, celebrating this day, is counting the blood of the covenant, an unholy thing. It is doing despite unto the Spirit of grace, as written in HEBREWS 10:29. Such believers in Christ who observe the days of birth are turning to the weak and beggarly elements, which bring them into the yoke of bondage, as written in GALATIANS 4:9-10.

It is renewing the covenant with the day that is cursed! It is therefore, a day that is not worthy of remembrance, talk-less of being celebrated! Believers in Christ are admonished by the Spirit of God, in ISAIAH 43:18, not to remember the former things, neither consider the things of old, when they were born of corruptible seed, but to remember when they were born again of the incorruptible word of God, as written in 1 PETER 1:23.

None of the patriarchs of old, nor the disciples of Jesus, not even any of the saints of God in the bible, observed this day, in which they were conceived and born in sin. Jeremiah said let that day not be blessed, and even Job, in JOB 3:3, said, and I quote, “LET THE DAY PERISH WHEREIN I WAS BORN, AND THE NIGHT IN WHICH IT WAS SAID, THERE IS A MAN CHILD CONCEIVED.” In VERSE 7, Job said, “LET NO JOYFUL VOICE COME THEREIN.” But believers in Christ today, bless this cursed day and make a joyful voice, of it and even provoke the Lord to anger, by the cutting of the so-called “birthday cakes”. These cakes are not different from the ceremonial cakes offered by the children of Israel, unto a demon-goddess, known as the queen of heaven, which we can read in JEREMIAH 7:18-19.

The two occasions recorded in the bible, of birthday celebration, can be read in GENESIS 40:20-22; MARK 6:21-28. And these two kings, Pharaoh and Herod, who observed and celebrated this day, were pagans. And two lives were lost, in the course of this celebration, in which King Pharaoh’s chief baker was hanged and John the Baptist, a servant of God, was beheaded on the order of King Herod. It means the devil, who has come to kill and to destroy was the author of these two birthday celebrations.

The devil is always at every birth-day celebration, seeking whom to devour. Jesus, who came to redeem us from the Adamic sin, in which we were born into this world, must be grieved in His heart, seeing the people of God, celebrating this day! The truth is that the redemption of mankind was made possible by the death of Christ, and by the shedding of His precious blood. Therefore, the birth of Jesus Christ, was only a precursor to this great memorable event of His death, hence Jesus never commanded His disciples, to do anything in remembrance of His birth, but were only commanded to remember His death by observing the Lord’s Supper often and often!

And so, this world-wide celebration of the birth of Christ, by believers and even by unbelievers, is a religious ceremony in futility, because it has no eternal or spiritual value to the souls of believers in Christ. And this celebration, because it is unbiblical, and therefore ungodly, has been hijacked by the devil, who deceives the whole world, making them to accept this fictitious day of 25th December, as the day Christ was born.

This preaching of “Christmas” and its celebration is actually the preaching and celebration of another Jesus, mentioned by Paul in 2 CORINTHIANS 11:4a, because the word, “Christmas” is nowhere to be found in the bible, neither is the word Mas, found in the bible. Mas, an abbreviation of Mass is a subtle strategy of Satan to tarnish the name of Christ.

What should be uppermost in the heart of every believer in Christ, is the thought of his/her eternal destination, when he/she leaves the world, NOT the remembrance of the day he/she was born. Jesus Christ regretted the day Judas was born, saying in MATTHEW 26:24c, and I quote, “IT HAD BEEN GOOD FOR THAT MAN IF HE HAD NOT BEEN BORN.” Judas, even though he was an ordained apostle, betrayed Jesus, the Truth, and eventually found himself in hell. The day of the birth of Judas, for example, was a cursed and regrettable day, not worthy of remembrance, talk less of being celebrated!

And so it is with the day of every one’s birth, because every one of us was shapen in iniquity and conceived and born in Adamic sin, from our mothers’ wombs. That is why every one of us needs the new birth, as commanded by Jesus Christ, in JOHN 3:5-7!

And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free, thus saith the Lord. Everyone that is of the truth, heareth my voice, again thus saith the Lord in JOHN 18:37c.
